Saturday Night Dinner with Friends

Sometimes you don't have to go out to a restaurant to enjoy a good meal. This weekend I got to do just that. I got together with my foodie group of ladies. I call them my foodie group because we first started going out for dinners during summerlicious and winterlicious when we all worked in the downtown core. Today we work in different parts of the city but we still make it a priority to get together and it's usually over a meal. On this Saturday night we got together in Oakville.
We started out with some Aged Cheddar Cheese (at least that's what we told ourselves) and a spanish red cabernet.

My drink of choice was sparkling pomegranate juice as I was DD. While we consumed the cheese and wine the house host was adding the finishing touches for the meal.
When we sat down for dinner man it didn't look like a lot but boy was it ever filling. Baked stuffed salmon, bbq baked chicken, steamed bok choy and asparagus.

BBQ Chicken was perfectly juicy, and tender, and finger licking saucy.

The baked salmon was courtesy of #Costco. I can't deny the dish it was baked in.
The bok choy was perfectly steamed, add the asparagus and the meal was complete. Im regretting not taking a picture of the wine bottle so that I could remember what to pick up next at the LCBO. There wa also another white sparkling wine (which again i did not sample) however it did look like it would pair well with the salmon. Hint Hint to the person that brought the wine I need to know what kind it was
With dinner wrapped up we moved on to desert which is where I came in. I made the classic (not really a classic but i'm gonna go with it) Bailey's Poke Cake.

I jazzed up the recipe and it was it hit. Lets just say you could taste the Bailey's. Coffee was also consumed along side the cake. I was able to bring some home and I swear it tasted even better the next day.
So friends that being said the 4 of us have already started to plan our next night of food. Looks like our days of eating out maybe getting reduce, but its not a bad thing. We each get to bring our own flavor and flair to the table. Until next time bon-apetite.
