MERRY CHRISTMAS

The daunting task of figuring out the menu. Well honestly the menu is pretty simple. You need the "bird" aka turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy made from bird juice & a salad. From that list the most daunting and important food is the dreaded TURKEY. Or at least for me it was as I cooked my family christmas dinner this year. Que the dramatic music.

With guidance from my dad I brined the turkey the night before. Put the bird in the oven at 300 Celcius for about 3 hours. Basting in between every half hour. The result was a nicely cooked turkey. Oh on the last half hour we slathered some good all regular Butter (no margarine), just Butter this was to allow the skink to get that nice & crispy outside. The rest of my meal come together quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Hoping everyone had a safe and joyous Merry Christmas and wrung in the new year with the ones you hold dear.
